D1ME is a card game based on discard dynamics, where you learn how to raise or lower blood glucose values and the management of Diabetes Mellitus 1. The game is inspired by Ancient Egypt, the Ebers Papyrus is the first document in which the disease appears described.

Goddesses, papyri and lucky numbers… What if Diabetes Type 1 management inspires a card game rules?

HISTORY

A little bit of history…

𓁐The Ebers papyrus is the first medical manuscript in which the disease of diabetes is described. This document defines some remedies that were used in Ancient Egypt (1500 A.E.C.) to combat its main symptoms. This game is inspired by the mythology and symbolism of that historical period and mixes it with today’s iconography of the desease treatment.

CREATION

Why D1ME?

𓀡»I am artist and cultural manager. I develop projects related to social and historical memory and I coordinate activities and dynamics of artistic mediation. I am diabetic and I created this card game thinking about those people close to me who have confusion or doubts about the management of my disease.” Anna Fando Morell
